Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell has worked as a chef, TV personality in the United States as well as an instructor at the Institute of Culinary Education. She is host of Secrets of a Restaurant Chef at Food Network. Food Network. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host who has spiky blond locks and a lively appearance, shares tips on how to prepare restaurant-style meals at home using simple methods. Chef Burrell is also a part of several of the most prestigious eateries in New York, studied the culinary landscape and traditions of Italy as well as competed on Food Network's Iron Chef America. Early on, while growing up in the upstate area of New York, Burrell became passionate about food and cooking. She pursued her passion for the restaurant industry by enrolling in The Culinary Institute of America after obtaining a degree in English and Communications from Canisius College, Buffalo NY. The student says "I loved being a Culinary Institute of American student. I loved every minute of it." Culinary Institute of America was an excellent place to study. After graduating, Burrell spent one year studying at the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners as well as working at the Umbrian restaurant La Taverna del Lupo as in Tuscany's La Bottega del 30, a Michelin-starred restaurant. In her time in Italy she came to comprehend and appreciate the philosophies behind Italian cuisine and culture which made a lasting impression from a culinary viewpoint. Burrell serves on the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which brightens the lives of kids who struggle. Additionally, she is a Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Celebrity Advocate in which she has a mission to raise awareness for young diabetics. Burrell is often a guest to speak at conferences and tours throughout the United States as part of her mentorship role. Anne has always been grateful she had the opportunity to share her love of her life, sharing her cooking skills with other people.
